Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin apologized on Sunday to anyone who was offended by his comments last week suggesting that teachers were responsible for children being sexually abused. Those who were not offended were not offered any sort of apology.

Now, 24 hours later the Governor has yet to receive an apology from the teachers. “I’m sorry you got offended by what I said, instead of agreeing with it and understanding that I’m right. Now, it would be nice to apologize to me for making me make this apology. Look, this was a misunderstanding, and it takes two to misunderstand. I apologized for my part, but where are the teachers?”

Bevin continued, “I wasn’t trying to say it was the teacher’s fault, I was trying to imply it. Big difference. And, I don’t want to say it, but I’d hate to think that these teachers not apologizing would make child abusers think they can also get away with abusing children and not apologizing.”

The governor concluded by announcing that, in light of recent events, he would no longer be talking to media outside of government building because “you all just take my words out of context by showing the entire clip of what I said without editing it or doing anything to alter the meaning.” Instead, the social media savvy governor will only be making announcements via Snapchat.
