Courtesy on Wheels spokesperson and apparently future candidate for Vice Mayor, Dan Glass, stayed at the Red Roof Inn on Wilhite Avenue over the weekend. Glass’s SWEEET Tea Party was holding a fundraising event in the Red Roof conference room for his future campaign. Everything went smoothly until the event came to an end and Glass retired to his room which he found was a Standard King room.
Glass went down to the front desk and began demanding an upgrade. “He kept saying, ‘I need a SUITE, I need a SUITE,'” concierge Randy Black said. “He kept swinging his arm and pointing every time he said suite, like it was some sort of compulsion or something. I don’t even think we have suites, but I said I’d check for him.”
Black said he did his best to get Glass the room he wanted, and searched for a while for a larger room, “I swear I looked on the computer for his reservation and saw one young woman standing next to him, only when I looked back up and it’s a completely different young woman. All in all he was pretty convincing, while we looked around he got me to register to vote before the deadline, and I got him a larger room and I now own a beautiful pre-owned Acura.”
Before taking to his new luxury room for the night Glass explained his request, “Look what I want is what the American people want, and I wasn’t trying to give the kid at the desk a hard time, but if we’re gonna Make America Sweeet Again, we can’t settle for anything less than what’s expected. This is America, and when someone rents out your conference room it’s just common courtesy on wheels to upgrade them to a SUITE!”
