Fayette County Public Schools announced today their record breaking academic achievement of three straight days of regularly scheduled classroom instruction.
For the first time in 2018, the school district is attempting to stay open all week. “But let’s not count our chickens before they hatch, let’s just enjoy the eggs we have right now,” laughed Fayette County Schools Okayintendent Edward Yu-Kayshun.
“Thanks to the hard work of our students, teachers, administrators and support staff, along with strong collaboration with parents and Bill Meck, we have been able to significantly increase our efforts of coming to school more than a couple times a week.”
Geometry Teacher Wynn Weever-Gonnausethis said, smiling through his teeth, of the achievement, “I’ll be honest, I’m exhausted, but I think I’ll make it. Usually at this point in the day I’m waking back up and thinking about heading to North Lime and maybe stopping by Bargain Hunt, but here I am struggling to stay awake during my planning period.”
The weather looks like it will stay warm at least until the weekend, which has prompted a record number of personal day requests by Fayette County Public School staff.
